SubQuery in Webi

Hi Experts,

1. Can i have sub quiries in Webi for Bex Query based Universe.

2. What is my requirement - I need to run two query , I first query i have one column as output Say - Country.

Then that country should be avilable in the prompt LOV for second Query.

Could anone tell me how to get this.

Iam using webi .. and My Both the Universe is based on Bex Query.

Hi,

why would you not want to use one query which has a variable and the variable is using a replacement path setting pointing to to the other query (which only has country in it) ?

I know that there are few work around for the same.

What i am looking for

- Do we have such a feature avilable at Webi Level.

- For example if we create a a Universe based on Info- Cube and we need to use sub quires feature then how we will implement it ?

- can i rasie an OSS ticket for such a feature.

Hi,

I don't think that you can use sub queries with an OLAP Universe.

what is it that you trying to do ?

just use the two query and then use the Merged Dimension concept.

Can you please guide me how I can do this with merge dimension ?

My requirement is - if user Select "Store" in Prompt

The report should show the u201CStore Sales Amountu201D and u201CCity Sales Amount u201C where City contains multiple store including the store which user has selected in prompt

Can You please help me how I can do this ?

how do you want to show multiple stores when the user is selecting one in the prompt / Filter ?

Or do you want to have different numbers depending on a prompt ?

Please consider the below scenario

Suppose Store1, store2 and Store 3 are under City 1 and Store4 , Store 5 and store 6 are under City 2

Requirement is your should allow to select store,

If your Select Store2 then Report should Show the Sales Amount for Store2 as well as the Sales Amount for City 1 ( City which store2 is belongs to Means Sales amount for all store for City 1)

Please guide me how to implement this

and store and city are in both sources ?

Did you look into the merge dimensions functionality ?

Hi Vrushali

you can implement this scenario using combined query concept. i'll explain with my universe example

in my universe i have shop name, state and amount sold (for store,city and sales amount in your query)

step wise screen shots attached for guidance

follow the below steps:

1. at webi query panel in results objects pane include shop name dimension and amount sold measure

2. add filter for dimension shop name using operator "=" and set it as prompt.

3. then run the query. you'll get the webi report containing single shop. like in step3.png

4.Afterwards go to edit .click on combined query icon.

5. in  combined query2 select state dimension instead of shop name and put amount sold as it is in results object pane

6. In query filter panel add subquery. the snapshot of adding subquery is attached below in step 6.png

7. then run the query you'll see the prompt pane as in step 2

8.finally you see the webi report that has the selected shop sales and corresponding all sales of the state in which the shop belongs to like the snap shot in step8.png
