Hi all,
would like to find out if anyone has encountered this problem before. I encountered this when I am installing an additional ABAP dialog instance on a windows 2003 32-bit server. There is 3GB RAM, with virtual memory 12288MB. I am unable to start up the dialog instance after installation. From the dev_w* files, I can't see much..In addition to this, I see an error message on my NT log. It doesn't help even after I patched the kernel. Can anyone help?

The Oracle database interface library fails to initialize (dboraslib.dll).
What database version are you running?

> I did a test from the application server to connect to the database server, and is successful via sqlplus.exe, so I don't think its the problem with the oracle instant client.
yes - because I was not talking about the instantclient but about the database interface library dboraslib.dll which is part of the SAP kernel.
I would try to instlal the latest one (latest SAPEXEDB* package plus lib_dbsl* package) for your platform.
Markus
Sorry, maybe I didn't explain clearly enough. The CI and DB are on a MSCS cluster. I am performing a dialog instance installation on another old server. There is nothing installed on it. We just re-installed the OS. The only difference I noticed is, the dialog instance server is on windows server 2003 sp 2, where as the rest are on sp1.

Ok... understand now
Is that machines OS patched with the latest security patches?
I'm sorry - I can't give you any more advises, dboraslib.dll fails to initialize... I'd open an OSS call to let the support have a look on the system.
Markus
Hi Eric,
Whats your kernel level ?
If its at the level 201 then, you try to update the oracle specific library file (patch level 205) available in SMP in both CI and the DI.
I hope that the kernel levels are same in both the instances.
Regards,
Varadhu
