Read PP Master Data not setting prod order from REL back to CRTD

I created a production order, released it, and then made changes to the BOM. I went back into the production order and did Functions > Read PP master data. The system gives the message "error when checking BOM - reading routing without BOM not possible after release".

I have deleted all relevant (1) inspection lots (2) transfer reqs. No transfer orders exist and no material movements appear to have been executed.

What am I missing? Why won't the system read the BOM?

Thank you very much for your replies!

The order is:

-not confirmed

-not delivered

-no purchase orders against it

-no future change records

-no change control at all

The log states that an error is being generated b/c transfer requirements exist for the order. I manually deleted that TR before trying to re-read the PP master data and still received the error.

The BOM is valid on the production order dates.

The system status of the order is REL PRT MACM.

Sarah,

It is clear from the Logs that there are problems with exisiting TR against the order. Please take the help of your LE Consultant for clearing the TR's.

As simple suggestion would be to check the Logs which were created when Read PP Master data functionality was used. From the menu GOTO->Logs-->Read PP Master Data, this would give you the reason as what has happened and why it is happening.

Please check validity date of BOM and order start and finish date of production order.

Hi,

what changes you have done to the BOM.if you have changed the status or useage of the BOM or any other field which is defined in the BOM application.

For Bom selection during the production order it depends on Application (there selction ID) defined in Order type dependent parameters

From the details given by you i can understand system is not able to determine the right BOM.Please let us know the changes done so that we can arrive at the solution.

Also please check IN OPL8 settings ,which BOM application is used and for that in OPJM the BOM application settings and selection ID settings.

the status of a released order is set to created again (after you "re-read" it successfully)

the reason could be if you answer YES on one of the following questions:

-is the order partially or finally confirmed?

-is the order partially or completely delivered?

-do purchase orders for externally processed operations already exist?

-are there inspection lots for the order?

-are there future change records from the confirmation (parallelization)?
