Why use specification type MAT_PART or BULK - is UOM the criteria?

Hello

In the documentation of Reach compliance it is mentionned that depending of the UOM (Pieces or not) then it is determining which specification type to use.

Our client in discrete industry doesn't want to manage too much specification type and would like to use compliance specification type instead of REAL_SUB.

Is it possible to use BULK with unit of measure Piece ?

Is it possible to use MAT_PART for all type of unit of measure?

In summary if we manage different UoM types then do have to respect what SAP documentation has mentionned ?

Thanks in advance for your help. Florence Geoffrion

Hello,

1) Is it possible to use BULK with unit of measure Piece ?

You should not use unit Piece for Bulk Materials

2) Is it possible to use MAT_PART for all type of unit of measure?

MAT_PART represented by Piece.

In real terms you differentiate a BULK from MAT_PART by Unit of Measure only. Unit "no Piece" or Unit "Piece".

This differention needs to be maintained between BULK and MAT_PART so that you generate relevant Compliance Structure from BIll of Materials for Product Compliance.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for your feedback.

So it is clear that we have to respect those rules when managing those specification types.
