I have created 'Sponsored links' by following the instruction here

I have configured steps 1, 2 and 3. In Step 3 b, added the index directly in SponsoredLinksComponent
There are 2 issues now
1. In search result, the sponsored link is appearing as an URL. Here instead of the 'Description' to appear it is the 'Keywords' appearing in the search result.
2. As mentioned in step 2 c, if I add the 'searchhidden' entry then the sponsored links from the particular data source is not at all appearing in the search result. I can see the datasource is indexed but the URL is not coming up in the search result.
This scenario is in EP 7 SPS 18. Am I missing any configuration step, what could be wrong?
