SAP file transfer method (SAP on Windows; DS on Unix) - sftp?

Hi

I am trying to use R/3 dataflows to get data from SAP server (on Windows). The DS Job Server is on unix.

We are having problems with creating a file share - CIFS is very very slow; the SAP Server and the DS Job Server are on different continents, but copying the data using windows to windows fileshare is quite quick.

Using ftp from/to windows server is not allowed by Company Security Policy.

Has anyone perhaps set up a shell script for Custom Transfer using sftp (secure ftp) or perhaps scp?

It seems like it is quite complicated to set up keys and pass the password to the sftp comand.

(We have had no problems when the SAP server is on unix; both shared directory and ftp work very well.)
