Hi,
I'm trying to use to new SAP NetWeaver BI Connection in Xcelsius SP2, but when I try to connect to a BEx Query, I receive error #2032.
I have a crossdomain.xml file in the Tomcat root of the BO-server, and the Adobe Global Security Settings are also filled in with all directories of my BO-server.
Has someone an idea why this error occurs, and how to solve it?
I'm working on Sap NetWeaver 7.0.1 SP5.
Lieven
Hi All
We were also receiving the #2032 error when trying to open a BI query on Xcelsius 2008 using the SAP netweaver BI connection.
We have the following configuration:
Server 1:
Xcelsius 2008 SP2
SAP GUI 7.10 SP14
Bex 7.10 SP10
MS Office 2007
IE 7
Server 2:
BI ABAP with EHP1 SP5
Server 3:
EP 7 Portal with EHP1 SP5 (including BI Java components on EHP1 SP5)
Logged this with SAP and tried numerous things to resolve the error such as adding the crossdomain.xml file. Alter macro settings on Office 2007. Eventually i tried to access the Portal from the Xcelsius server (server 1) and it complained about IE7 security and i added the Portal URL to the trusted sites under the IE 7 security options.
This resolved the error #2032 and we can now open BI queries on Xcelsius 2008 using the SAP netweaver BI connection.

Gavin Wiggill

Hello Gavin and all other experts
We also receive the #2032 error when trying to open the BI query on Xcelsius 2008 using the SAP netweaver BI connection.
Our configuration is
Xcelsius SP2
BW 7.01 SP5
Java Stack SP5
ABAP SP5
new auth object S_RS_XCLS assigned
0DASHBOARD_TEMPLATE active
SAP GUI 710
BEx 7.0 patch 1001
Office 2003, IE 6 Browser
BW System in a federated portal network
I modified the portal URL to producer portal as descibed in SAP Note Number: 1408354 Error 2032 - Federated Portal Network and Xcelsius
As advised from Gavin I also changed the macro settings on Office and added my prod. Portal URL to the trusted sites in the IE 6 security options.
We don't connect to the server via VPN.
But I cant resolve the problem.
Does anybody know other configuration steps to solve the error.
Thanks
Rene
Hi All,
We were getting the same issue (Error #2032, while connecting to Bex query from DashboardDesign tool, "The First Post"),
The issue got resolved by installing "patch 14 for DashboardDesign 4.0 SP2".
You guys can try the same.
Thanks
Riyaz

I just attended SAP TechEd09 and had a hands on session working with Xcelsius 2008 directly to a BW query. Obviously it was a canned scenario and worked fine but did highlight some prerequisites. It seems that all restrictions should be dealt with in the query and that the query should not require variables selected at run time. I thought this was the reason for my Error #2032 but after selecting an existing KPI query that requires no user selected variables at runtime I still get this error.
Please let us know the outcome of the OSS call in this thread.

Hi
I am trying to connect Xcelsius2008 SP2 to BW 7.0 (EhP1 SPS5) using the SAP NetWeaver BI Connection. I have the right versions of Xcelsius and BW backend and frontend. I am able to connect to the BW system, see a list of queries from the BI NetWeaver connection from Xcelsius; however I get the same error mentioned in this thread 'error #2032' when I select one of the queries. Does anyone have a resolution to this error?

Integration works fine in our environment, see the config below which I have.
Server: NW BW 7.0 EHP1 SPS 5 (AbAP and Java)
Client:
Windows XP
Xcelcius 2008 SP2
SAP GUI 710
BEx 7.0 patch 1001
Bex 3.X
Office 2007 with all the latest patches
Internet Explorer 7.0
You could also check whether the connection with BW backend and Portal (Java) system is working. You could use OSS note 937697 for this.
Thanks.
Hi all!
I am facing the same problem and running out of ideas. A SAP ticket was placed last week, waiting for some useful hints now...
As I saw your "Software List" I was wondering, if "Office 2007" and "IE 7" are mandatory requirements. Actually, my system completely fulfils the Xcelsius and SAP version requirements but I am using Office/Excel 2003 and IE 8...
Might this be the reason?
THX a lot in advance!
Micha
Try applying the BI Java patch mentioned in the note below:
https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1380059
I do not think it is related to IE 8 and Office 2003.
We are using in total 6 different clients with Xcelsius 2008 Enterprise SP2. With two of them we can use SAP NetWeaver BI Connection and do not receive any error. The rest is showing the error message #2032.
There is one difference between the systems which are working and the ones which are not:
After selecting the query in the BI NetWeaver Connection there is an additional popup "Windows security" appearing.
--> The server sapbw100.xxxx at BicsRemote/Config1 requires a username and password.
Filling in the username and password the data from the query appear in the xcelsius.
With the clients which provide an error there is no such popoup.
If we create on an existing installation an .xlf file and open it on one which is not working, the Data Managers show the correct connection. As soon as we click on refreshing data, error #2032 appears.
System configuration clients:
Windows XP and Windows 7
Office 2007
SAP Business Explorer Patch 1001
Regarding the working clients:
One is working on XP the other on Windows 7
Both on Xcelsius 5.2.0.0
Installing the FixPatch for SP2 is also not helping to solve the problem.
All the inputs in this thread have been tested but without sucess. Till now we could not install note 1380059 since related notes are not yet released.
Hi, Erich & All,
as you might have seen we are facing the same error (#2032) as you. Only difference: Your error obviously vanished yesterday...
Your two entries call my attention to more client-speciific issues, and I would appreciate it if you could clarify some points I might not have seen yet:
What role does the Internet Explorer play in establishing the connection? I ignored IE completely (as always) but now I wonder if this was an error. Do I have to configure some security issues within IE?
What exactly did you do to the hosts file (I guess it is the hosts file underneath...WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc, right?). Did you simply add a line with <IP number of Java stack> <hostname of Java stack>?
A BIG THX for you...!
Michael
Hi Michael
Answering your questions:
Yes, we were able to solve the problem with error #2032.
I cannot tell you how the security settings of IE are related with the error 2032. The only thing I know is after when you published the xcelsius files and you are going to launch them, there is where IE gets into the game.
It seems definition are transferred via SAPGUI protocol and data is transferred via other protocol which needs a correct DNS resolution. Tricky to find out the error was because we filled the IP address and not the hostname into the SAPLOGON.
Maybe you can test the following to know if you have access to the Netweaver and the Java Stack.
Create an example without BI Connection and publish it on the SAP BI system. (Menu SAP, Publish)
This connection seems to work with SAPGUI protocol.
Afterwards try to launch the example you just published (Menu SAP, Launch). At this time the connection with JAVA-Stack and IE will take place. If I do not have the parameters in the Host file and the system is not able to do the DNS resolution you will get an error in the IE.
That's how I can reproduce the error #2032.
The enty we made in the host file looks like this (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
10.101.x.xx sapbw100 sapbw100.xxxxx.com
Good morning, Erich!
Thank you very much for this detailled description of your problem (and solution!!!) environment. It will give me some new useful hints, some other paths to try.
My #2032 directly appears when choosing a BW query, so I didn't even try to publish something to SAP until now. But of course I will try it now, cause it makes sense to divide the problems into pieces and check if there are parts that work.
Part of my problem is the environment as a whole: I only can see (and influence) the Xcelsius part, the SAP staff is more than 100 kilometers away at our customer's side. With VPN and Co no real show stopper but it doesn't make it easier...
Thanks again & regards!
Michael
Hi,
This Error#2032 is from Adobe Error. This will be thrown when the server is busy to respond and there are so many connections it has to respond.
You just retry after sometime. And also check your BICS version through http://<Server>...../bicsremotedebug

Hi,
we have the same problems with error #2032 after selecting a query in Xcelsius.
The error occurs because Xcelsius tries to call the follwoing URL:
http://myserver:serverport/BicsRemote/Config1?style=document
The page doesn't exists: "404 Not Found - The requested resource does not exist."
Any ideas what kind of page this is?
Could you please post the full URL for getting the BICS Version: (http://<Server>...../bicsremotedebug) What is "..."?
The entry in "RSPOR_T_PORTAL" in field "URL_PREFIX" is "http://myserver:serverport". Is this enough?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, all!
I just want to tell you, that our #2032-problem is fixed as well...
The reason obviously was, that I was trying to connect to the SAP BW from outside my customer's network, i.e. I have to connect via VPN. Alhough we already had unlocked some VPN-related port numbers due to earlier error messages (which were a little bit more specific...), it obviously had not been enough. And when facing #2032 we didn't think that this still may have something to do with the VPN...
A visit at the customer, i.e. a connect from within the network, showed me, that there was everything okay! No need to adjust something at the SAP system or at my client...
Regards!
Michael
Deepu,
I wasn't able to test it yet, but I have some questions concerning this topic:
1. You have to publish the dashboard in SAP NetWeaver BI (e.g. SAP Portal). But is it still possible to export these dashboards to PDF or powerpoint? Are they still working then?
2. Is a combination of a SAP NetWeaver BI Connection and QaaWS / Live Office connection possible?
3. Can a hierarchy node variable be used in the BEx Query?

I have already activated the 0DASHBOARD_TEMPLATE in the BW system, but I receive this message the moment I select my BEx query in the Connection.
According to the infrastructure people, the problem occurs due to not having a Java stack on our system. The connection cannot be achieved. At this moment they are installing this Java stack on our system.
I'll come back after the installation.

From http://service.sap.com/patches you can follow the link for SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP1.
No, I try to connect to a BEx Query directly with the new SAP NetWeaver BI Connection.
This is a new feature in Xcelsius 2008 SP2.

Are you deploying to BOE or the SAP BW system? For this new connection to work you will have to deploy to SAP BW system from the SAP menu option within Xcelsius 2008 SP2.
You will need both BI ABAP and Java on 7.01 SP 5 for this to work.
Also make sure you have the 0DASHBOARD_TEMPLATE activated in the BW backend system.
hi,
which way you trying to connect Bi query with xcelsius. Through Live office, if yes. then go to Data Manager --> Live office connection --> change the Session URL
http://<webserver>:8080/dswsbobje/services/session
Give your Bo server name and port No.
