I'm modifying a report orginally created in an old version crystal report. When I drag a field from a table listed in the field explorer to the design, get .'..unhandled excepton in crw32.exe (4912)'. also tried adding the field from the Insert menu with the same result. adding anything from field explorer is crashing the application. any ideas.
Is dual monitor is enabled in your machine? if so Crystal doesn't support dual monitor. So, try to remove dual monitor and test the report.

Before inserting field, try "Verify Database" to refresh the database connection.
Hope that helps,

I get the same exact 'functionality'. When dragging a data field onto the report I have had it crash. When deleting a formula that is NOT in use anywhere in the report I have had it crash. The only thing I can 100% always reproduce is that any time I drag a field onto the report, and then accidentally go too far (off the left-side of the report (I have 2 monitors, with crystal reports running in the right monitor currently) it crashes 100% of the time, no matter what.
I found a link in the forums recommending disabling DEP (Data Execution Prevention) and have done that to no avail. If anyone does know/figure this out it would be awesome.
