Is it possible to run a BW-query and send the output as a csv-file using the BI7.0 Information Broadcaster? How is this done? What alternative ways are there to send out BW-data in the form of a csv-file as an attachment to an email?

Hello,
Can you please let me know how to enable CSV for broadacsting query output.
Even after making the change in RSRD_OUTFORM table, it is not showing up the output format dropdown.

Some additional information which may help others if opening results in MS EXCEL. Table RSADMINCV1 contains Thousand separator, Dec. point separator, Field separator, and Field delimiter. I set the "Thousand separator" to comma, and "Field separator" to comma so that the file opens correctly when opened in Excel.

Thank you for your reply Murali. In my system I didn't have CSV-file available as an option, but I found a solution to this in SAP Note 893427 "Supporting CSV format in broadcasting".
"To select the CSV format in broadcasting, proceed as follows:
Call transaction SE16 and enter the RSRD_OUTFORM table name; choose F7.
Select OUTFORM = CSV using the selection screen; choose F8 and an entry appears.
Select this entry and choose 'Change' (F6); the SUPPRESS field contains X.
Delete the contents of the SUPPRESS field; select Ctrl+S to save the change.
Navigate back by repeatedly choosing F3."

Hi,
Yes,This can be done through BEx Broadcaster.
Please follow the below stes...
1.Open your query in BEx Analyzer
2.Go to BEx Analysis Toolbar->Tools->BEx Broadcaster...
3.Click "Create New Settings"->Select the "Distribution Type" as "Broadcast Email" and "Output Format" as "CSV"
4.Enter the Recipients Email Address under "Recipients" tab
5.Enter the Subject and Body of the mail under "Texts" tab
6.Save the Setting and Execute it.
Now the Query data will be attached as a CSV file and sent to the recipents through Email.
Hope this helps you.
Rgds,
Murali
