Mass delete of attribute values for list of BPs

Hi everyone,

I want to mass delete attribute values of a list of BPs (a target group for example).

In my case, I have a multi valued marketing attribute "Gifts" with the values "Calendar", "Christmas Card" and "Magazine". Customers can have all, some or none of these assigned.

I can use the expert tool "Assignment of an Attribute Value to all BPs in a Target Group" to mass maintain a list of BPs so they all get the value "Calendar" set. But how can I mass maintain a list so that the BPs loose the setting "Calendar"? With the expert tool I tried old value "Calendar", new value blank, but this doesn't work, no BP is changed.

Has anyone an idea how I can do this? Thank you all in advance.

Hi - Ok, I don't think its that easy to just remove one Attribute value and keep the rest assigned to a target group...If I am getting you right, you are trying to achieve this...

15 BPs have values for an attribute Gift...some may have calender and some may have both calendar and clock etc ...You are trying to remove just Calendar out of the equation... This I guess you are doing so that users don't get anything anybody for calendar gift....

First, you were trying to assign a blank value to the TG, but did you create a blank value in the attribute???/ Like calendar is a value, create a BLANK - DO NOT USE something like that as a value in the attribute....so this is how it will be

Attribute set (say CUSTOMER PLANS) -> Attribute (GIFT) -> Value (BLANK)...

Now assign this BLNAK or whatever name you want to give...and run the exper tool to remove Calendar with this new value...I hope the purpose would be achieved...Then later on, you can delete the attribute value, since no one's assigned to it..
