We have the MSS functionality working in SAp for attendence overview and detail. The employee is set with all its subordinates in SAP. Also the structural authorization is working in SAP as well. The EP connectivity with SAP is also working. However when i logged into EP6.0 as that employee, for My Staff - Attendance Overview EP comes back with message 'No data Available'.
This also happens for My Staff - Team Calendar, My Staff - Attendence Detail and for Team Viewer (For Team Viewer EP6.0 sends a message 'No Object Found'.
Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sanjoy.
This was a question a long time ago, but maybe someone finds this still useful....
Did you define the definition in the /etc/services file (Windows) on the portal server?
In your case with System No 50, define :
sapdp50 3250/tcp # SAP Dispatcher.
sapgw50 3350/tcp # SAP Gateway
General Rule :
<service name> <port number>/<protocol>
sapdp## 32##/tcp # SAP Dispatcher. 3200 + System
sapgw## 33##/tcp # SAP Gateway. 3300 + System
sapsp## 34##/tcp # 3400 + System
sapms## 36##/tcp # SAP Message Server 3600 + System
sapdp##s 47##/tcp # SAP Secure Dispatcher 4700 + System
sapgw##s 48##/tcp # SAP Secure Gateway 4800 + System
The 32## ports are used by SAP GUI, while the 33## ports are used by RFC (Remote Function Call) applications.

Kai

Hi Sanjoy,
What about the user id for the employee? If it is not the same in R/3 and portal with SAP Logon tickets, there is a possiblity for this type of messages.

Hi,
Have you come across these problems while integrating MSS to Portals?
1) Could not connect to the R3 System. I have created and
tested the system, it's working fine.
2) A Blank screen
3) Internal Error : Null
4) This is the error i get. A time out error...
Error occured
Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM GWHOST=iwdfl103.wdf.sap.corp, GWSERV=sapgw50, ASHOST=iwdfl103.wdf.sap.corp, SYSNR=50 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host ERROR connection to host iwdfl103.wdf.sap.corp, service 3350 timed out TIME Tue Sep 21 11:07:10 2004 RELEASE 620 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 36 RC -12 MODULE nixxi_r_mt.c LINE 805 DETAIL NiPConnect COUNTER 2
The error log is not accessible to me, so thats all i can provide.
Any clue ??
Hi Sunil,
Have you had any luck with this one?
I am also having similar problem. We are on EP6 SP6 and connected to R/3 Enterprise WAS 6.20. We have both WAS & ITS connection tests working. But I think MSS does not use either of those. I also have all required system aliases defined. For all MSS iViews, I get an error - Could not connect to the R/3 sytem.
Anyone has seen this before?
Thanks,
Hemant Desai
This actually sounds as though the empl is not defined as a chief. Which is odd considering that you stated that this empl is set up in SAP.
Does any iView that uses RFC to connect to the SAP system work? There are minumum backend authorizations that are required to run MSS.

Kyle

Hi All,
I would like to ask one simple question about MSS and ESS. I have imported the business package and connected the portal to the R3 system and created the required aliases too.
Now the question is: Is it true that with business packages for MSS and ESS we dont require to configure the ITS System? Or do i need to configure the ITS to see the iviews when i click on the links?
An immediate response would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
