Hi all,
I've been asked "lock" someone here at work out of certain areas of SAP. Problem is, that person is a super user. But, I'm not sure if they need to be. I think it may have been setup that way just because it was easier.
Do people in accounting have to be super users?
What about people who do purchasing?
I guess what I'm wondering is, is there a reason that anyone other than the DBA needs to have super user status?
Thanks for any and all replies,
jim
Hi Jim,
Like Bishal pointed out, Super User in B1 has all powers without any limitations. Only few users should be assigned to that role. Otherwise, you will find you are in the very difficult positions. There is no need for any accounting or purchasing users to be a super user.
Thanks,
Gordon

Jim ,
If the user is superuser in SAP, you cannot lock that user from acessing certain area . However , you can play with form setting and hide the certain module and give the user .But if he is familiar with form setting ,he can change that easily .
SAP B1 super user doesn't mean that he /She needs to have a full access to SQL server .
These are two different things ...
Other option is : Donot make that user superuser and change his authorisation .
Hope this helps
