<SID>adm account password issue.

I need to apply patches to our Portal J2EE engine 7.0. As per SAP , we need to use windows account <SID>adm.

This account resides in Active Directory( we integrated SAP portal with Active Drectoru).

Now, the AD guys have change the account password policy and our <SID>adm account does not meet the new account policies anymore. As a consequence, we cannot start the Windows Command Prompt using account <SID>adm (fails when trying to log on). Portal rns fine, no issues, it is just that we cannot logon using <SID>adm and we cannot apply patches.

My questions:

1.is there an alternative account ( besides <SID>adm ) that we can use for patching?

2. could we reset the password of the account <SID>adm? will portal still work?

your help is appreciated.

Regards,

Tiberiu

SID ADM is a OS user. this user id will communicate with the instance in ur portal system and then talks to the abap or java schema of the database. since this is a OS user, try changing the password in config tool > secure area...

the password policies can be updated in the config tool under the secure area....match those changes and restart and you should be fine...or may be there is an issue with the user properties ...check C:/users/<SIDADM> where the id exists.

normally JSPM is used to apply patches. so check these links:
