Asset Impairment

Hello All,

Kindly let me know:

I'm using SAP 4.6

1. How to handle asset impairment?

2. Is it possible to migrate asset impairment values too, while migrating assets from legacy to SAP?

3. Is there a difference in the above things in SAP 4.6 and SAP ECC

Doing it using unplanned depreciation

1. How to handle asset impairment?

Create a Transaction type in AO78 by giving the description as Impairment.

Transaction Type Group 64

Check Credit Transaction Radio button

Consolidation transaction type would be 220 (depreciation)

In OAXE, restrict this impairment to the right depreciation areas

Then you can post the impairment on assets by using transaction code AB01 / ABSO

2. Is it possible to migrate asset impairment values too, while migrating assets from legacy to SAP?

You can migration the imapirment values under cumulative unplanned depreciation in AS91 transaction code Takeover values tab

3. Is there a difference in the above things in SAP 4.6 and SAP ECC

There is no difference as far functionality of impairments is concerned.

No main differences between 4.6 an ECC6
