Hi,

I am trying to installing SAP netweaver 7.01 server on oracle 1.2.0.4 in Windows 2008 64-bit system.

But when I try to install oracle I get this error.

Checking operating system version: must be 5.1 or 5.2. Actual 6.0

I did search on sdn at the pam matrix it should be possible. And according to OSS note 1326698 it is supported on Windows 2008.

Any help?

Reza

Hi,

You can try one of the following options to avoid such error.

Option-1.

You can adjust oraparam.ini in the directory Disk1/install according to ur OS version 6.0.

Option-2.

Also you can start the installation with -ignoreSysPrereqs option "setup.exe -ignoreSysPrereqs" to avoid such error.

Also refer this thread [|] to get more info.

Hi,

installation stop with unknown error.

Please elaborate it with some details.

Are you Installing Enterprise Edition of Oracle 10.2.0.4 64bit ?

Administrator user is in use for performing the Installation ?

Also refer this SAP Note 1303262 - Oracle on Windows Server 2008 along with the Installation Guide.

Hej Bhavik,

Are you Installing Enterprise Edition of Oracle 10.2.0.4 64bit ?

Yes I am installing ORACLE-10.2-rdbms 64bit.

Administrator user is in use for performing the Installation ?

Yes Administrator user is in use

I Check the PAM at http://service.sap.com/pam.

Also refer this SAP Note 1303262 - Oracle on Windows Server 2008 along with the Installation Guide.

Yes I did refer to note 1303262.

I did fundet Note 980426 - Oracle 10.2 Software installation on new operating systems from a link you give me.

There is 4 workaround but I do not know this can help me.

I make a copy of installation cdu2019es on my server and I try to install oracle from there.

I want to try workaround 3 from sso notes: I download RUNINSTALLER.ZIP file.

But I can not find RUNINSTALLER on my installation file.

It is first time I am installing Oracle bd.

Any help?

Hi,

Install Oracle 10.2.0.2 and install SAP.

Once the SAP installation completed you can start oracle upgrade 10.2.0.4. after upgrade complete run catupg.sql with startup upgrade mode.

OR

Check this note 972263, section "Installation" (This option you can install oracle 10.2.0.4 directly)

Thanks

You can not use the 10.2.0.1 version to install Oracle 10g on Windows 2008:

Note 1303262 - Oracle on Windows Server 2008

And note:

Windows 2008 R2 is not yet supported for installations:

Note 1383873 - Windows Server 2008 R2 Support

Hi Markus,

Thanks for reply and answer, I did use some time to find out as it is possible. I just got cd installation from sap to install sap netweaver server on oracle.

I did find this forum http://www.groupsrv.com/computers/about643822.html .

Any idea when can vi use 10.2.0.4 version to install Oracle 10g on Windows 2008?

Is it possible to use a older version of oracle at first time on my windows 2008 and wait to patch it later?

Why don't you simply read the installation documentation?

No.

Read the notes above. It's not possible to install an older version on Windows 2008 since the Java version that the older versions of orainst use don't work on Windows 2008.
