Hi Everybody.

I am facing the following problem when I try to access BPC for Excel

"Object variable or with block variable not set"

I´m accessing the BPC client normally, this problem happens only in case of BPC for Excel.

Can anybody know how to solve my problem. I´m using BPC NW 7.5.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rodrigo,

Follow the below steps:

1. Open your normal Excel.

2. Check for Planning and Consolidation tab on the top ribbon.

3. I assume this wouldn't be available for you.

4. If this is not present, open the Excel Options

5. Click on Add-Ins and check the Active Application Add-ins

6. Is Planning and consolidation present in it?

7. If not, select "Disabled Add-ins" in the drop down below besides "Manage".

8. Click "GO"

9. Select the Planning and Consolidation add-in from disabled add-ins and "Enable" it.

10. Check once again if this add-in is prersent in "Active" add-ins .

11. Now close and re-open excel

12. The Tab should be present now (Planning and Consolidation)

Now this error wouldn't persist anymore.

Let me know if it worked? I had similar problem...

Can someone tell me what the exact add-ins are?

I am on BPC 7.5 SP04 Netweaver. (Excel 2003)

I find the add-ins under <local drive>/programs/sap businessobjects/pc_nw.

I have tried to add them all and individually and it only makes things worse.

In my client's Excel options, the add-in was not a 'disabled item' it was a COM add-in.

This can be selected from the same drop-down list where 'disabled items' are found.

Hi,

This is a very general error message and can be due to many reasons. So can you please give information like: Is this the first time are you trying to access to BPC for Excel after installing the BPC 7.5?

Does this happen only on your machine? Have you tried to access the BPC for Excel with your user on a different machine?

What version of Excel are you using?

If you are accessing it for the first time after installing the client then could be installation issue. Also have you uninstalled any previous versions which exists on your machine.

At what point exactly are you getting this error? like as soon as you click on BPC for Excel or while going through the connection wizard or while trying to access any input schedules or reports.

Thanks
