Solman 7.0 EHP1 installation questions

Hello,

I'm currently installing a Solution Manager EHP1. The following steps I've successfully executed:

- update to SP22

- productive Solution Manager client 100 created

- J2EE UME switched to client 100

- intial configuration via solman_setup

Now I need to run the basic configuration and I've questions.

Step 4 - user data

The location of BW is requested. What is the best practice? Use a separated BW client or configure the BW in the Solution Manager client? Solution Manager is based on NW 7.0. Solution Manager has no BI JAVA installed. Does the Solman only use

BW 3.5 functionality (BI JAVA is not reuquired)?

Step 5 - landscape data

It's possible that the Solman automatic updates the route permission table of SAP router. Are special configuration steps need on SAP router?

Hi Thomas,

to your questions:

a) Best practice is to have the BW system on the SolMan. If you want to save some manual effort, you can put it in the same client, that you use productively for your SolMan. You are right, no BI Java is used. Only 3.5 functionaltiy

b) This is integrated in SolMan Setup, but you need a FTP server on the SAProuter.
