Hi Sekar,

The disposal channel referes to waste generated by a generator either from single source or multiple sources. Similarly, the disposal channel includes the source of generation, handling at on-site, transit storage of the waste generated, transporter, reception and disposal point. In addition to above, the regulatory legislations are piovital role in the disposal channel. In SAP, the disposal channel is widely elaborated, go thru the link.

If the waste is categorised as hazardous and then the disposal process shall be monitored more intimately keeping in view of local & international regulations to ensure approved disposal mode. The HW are disposed off by various ooptions including recycling, reuse, landfill and incineration epending upon the characterstics of the waste and its detrimental effects on the environment. The specific disposal mode is the deciding criteria for its handling, reception, transportation and finally end dispsoal. However, the imp issues in the disposal channel is type of waste generated, transportation, regulaory norms and final disposal.

Hi Mahesh/Niraj

Good information on the disposal channel. But can you tell the significance of the entry document and how the functionalities of disposal documents differ from the entry documents. Typically which are the requlations required to be followed for ASIAN of MALAYSIAN region?

Thanks and Regards,

Sachin

Hi Sachin,

Entry documents are the documents that identifies the waste entry. Entry documents are the starting point for disposal processing. In the entry document, you document which waste generator generated which waste and when, and the quantity of waste that was produced.

Disposal documents are required for transporting a waste. You can print disposal documents and give them to the waste transporter in order to fulfill requirements in laws and regulations. You can also use disposal documents internally in your enterprise, for example for documentation purposes.

It depends on kind of business rule is defined for the org., but normaly it happens like:

At a site there are diffrent points of waste genrations, waste generated at these points are often internally accumulated before final disposal. In this case, internal waste quantities are maintained to track the origin of the waste. An entry document is created to record the quantities of the internally produced wastes.

And when the final disposal is done to the disposal site from the accumulated point, a document is sent with the transpoter is called the Disposal document. It is called a Waste manifest.

I do not have nay specific information about requlations required to be followed for ASIAN of MALAYSIAN region. You can search on net and probably can get some information.

Thanks Niraj,

Very Good explanation. I was thinking to implement only Disposal document and not to go for entry documents as per the business, it means there is no dependancy of the entry document with the disposal document correct?

But what about the waste approvals?

Best regards,

Sachin

Hi Sachin,

Yes, disposal document can be created directly without entry document. This process is called Legally compliant disposal processing. And when disposal document is created with reference to entry document the process is called Lean waste management with entry of Internal quantities.

Waste approval is A permit stipulated by law or company permit approving the planned disposal of specific wastes. The law may require approval from the appropriate authorities for the disposal of hazardous wastes. It is the maximum quantity of waste belonging to a certain waste code that can be generated and disposed of over a specified time period. It represent the preliminary approvals issued by the authorities for conducting the waste disposal.

It will not be possible to explain everything on this forum, request you to visit the SAP help at :

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/a5/3adda043be11d188fe0000e8322f96/frameset.htm

Go to submodule waste management.

I do not remember the exact link, but there are Demo guides also available for Waste management where you will have readymade scenarios for all the Waste management processes.

Niraj

Hi Chandra Sekar,

Disposal channel is the possible link between waste generators, waste transporters, and waste disposers to wastes for their disposal. In a disposal channel, you specify that a waste disposer can dispose of a particular waste that has been generated by a particular waste generator.

The data in disposal channels is automatically transferred to various points in Waste Management and used for checks.

Niraj
