Hi
I know that we can allocate and de allocate the operation in a workcenter to another
But is it possible to allocate resources from one workcenter to the other WC, with the help of some planning table as we do in the case of operation allocation.
Thanks
Dear ,
You can try through Capacity Requirement Planning in following ways .This is possible when you diepath the operation and you have option to change the work centre /Resource
1.CM21 -Enter your resources (WC) , capacity categoery , plant and Execute .
2.Now this will display you in combination of operation /work centres /planned order or production order .If you want to allocate new resourse or work cenre to operation , you need to dispatch the operation in Dipatch Button on the header .But befoer you do that you hit the Stategty Profile --Here you will find Date Entry When dipatching -Mark the filed and continue .If you dispatch the operation a window will pop up with Operation Timing /Date/WCor Resource .You can change here and dispath the opeation .
I am doing the same for production order .Try in process order .Make sure that your Capacity requirement Profle are in places based on the production scheduling profile .
Try and revert.

Hi,
WC and resource is the same. Detailed explanation is as below:
In the SAP system work centers are business objects that can represent the following real work centers, Examples of work centers:
u2022 Machines, machine groups
u2022 Production lines
u2022 Assembly work centers
u2022 Employees, groups of employees
We define capacities in work centers, and a capacity is the ability to perform a specific task
We distinguish between various capacities in a work center, such as labor or machines, by using the capacity category. In order to plan capacities in a more detailed manner, we can define individual capacities for each capacity, for example, in the capacity category Person 3 employees or in the capacity category machine 5 lathes.
In your question context, we can change individual capacities in a work center, in business terms, it means to increase or decrease capacity of the work center.
Work centers in PP are called resources in PP-PI module.
Hope this clarifies the doubts.
Please confirm.

Hi Rajesh,
Taking your example, we want to shift one person from one work center to another.
We would have defined the labour capacity and from the planniing board, we go to work center maintenance and change the individual capacities ( increase in one WC and decrease in another WC).
This is master data maintenance of the WC.
I hope clarifies.
Please check and confirm.
