Serialization mandate for Brazil pharma

Here's the latest I'm hearing regarding brazil. If anyone has info to confirm/reinforce or even deny this I'd be interested to hear.

u2022 The Treasury will issue labels to be applied to pharmaceutical product in the form of a seal, containing a unique ID and a hologram.

u2022 The Treasury are treating this operation similar to the printing of currency, using very similar techniques for the hologram as they do with Brazilian currency.

u2022 There will be a blank space on each seal for the pharma company to print a serial number, which must be a SGTIN.

u2022 The SGTIN + unique Treasury number gives a strong security footprint, reinforced by the hologram.

u2022 There is still an option being considered that the treasury will actually print the SGTIN as well (in other words, the pharma companies would have to forward their numbers to the Treasury. The Treasury official did say that this is unlikely to be considered)

u2022 The treasury has said that itu2019s scheduled to start issuing labels in June!

It looks like Brazil is a u201Cgou201D
