Controlling Content Area

Dear all,

When Portal is loaded the first content of First role of user is show automatically on Content Area of Portal, has some way to change this behaviour?

Eg. Portal User X has the roles (Sales, Customer), Sales role has two iViews, and it is the first navigation node, when User X access Portal, the first iView of Sales Role (Entry Point) is visible on Content Area. I would like that content just appear when User X click on Sales -> IView One, for example. Is possible to do it just with configuration? Or it needs a more detailed customization on Content Area (i'm using light content area).

I've found a weblog post that shows how to create a custom content area, it is from 2006 () today has a better way to do it? This solution isn't good to maintenance.

Best regards

Hi Isaias.

A standard way of preventing such heavy iViews as yours from being loading automatically is the [Navigation with Workset Map iView|https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-36128]. The blog you mentioned is dealing with a solution to a completely different problem then yours.

If this scenario suits your needs, do not hesitate to ask further questions regarding a Workset Map iView.

Hi Aliaksandr,

I'll test this solution. I've thought in customize the Content Area because this behaviour must be happen on certain conditions. Eg. If a specific link was clicked and page re-render I would like to render a specific content, render the TLN navigation, but not render the default iView for first Role.

Company - Carrers - Financial Info (Its is a Fixed Menu Entries on top of page, not based on Portal Roles)

Sales - Customer (Its is a Top Level Navigation based on Portal Roles)

When user access the site the First iView of Sales must be appears (Default behaviour).

If user click on Company (Fixed menu), a content for company must appear, but TLN menu must be rendered, and the default content mustn't appear)

Do you think it is possible just with configuration?

Hi Aliaksandr,

I'm reading this topic on documentation http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/014421d21d6fade10000000a11466f/content.htm , I'll test if I generate the fixed menu with this tag the default content won't be rendered and the role pointed by link will turn default.
