How do I transport a variant for MEMASSPO from Dev to P?

Former Member

I am trying to add the variant of MEMASSPO to a transport to have it moved from dev to test and ultimately production.

Does anyone know if this can be done?

Hi Irene,

One more easiest Way.

for the table MASSVARIANT - we have Table maintainance.

just create the variant in your DEV, In your production you can maintain the same by copy from DEV.

Hi Irene ,

I agree with gautham , The variant details of MASS MAINTAINANCE are stored in the table MASSVARIANT.

Please try to transport MASSVARIANT table entries.

you can use these variants by giving the object name ( for PO its BUS2012 ) and variant name in TCODE MASS.

I was wrong. I apologise and withdraw my previous post.

Here is how you can do it:

transaction MASSV2S: copy your variant to a system variant --> these can be transported by using

transaction MSTRVAR_S

Normally that's how it is done.

I've done that for many variants.

But.. when I put in the t-code MEMASSPO program name and variant, it does not show the variant.

Actually it says no variant avaible.

When I go back to the MEMASSPO screen, the variant is there...

Please help

Hi Irene ,

This is not a report variant. check the TCODE SHD0 which is used to create a Screen or Transaction variant. Please have a look at the following Links.

How to save the variant for MEMASSPO ? Its being mentioned in this link.

Details about screen variant and how to move the same to a transport ?

I don't know which program name you gave because MEMASSPO in turn uses MASS transaction.

Those variant details are stored in MASSVARIANT table.

Variants of mass maintenance are stored on their own DB - MASSVARDB (as of 4.6*) and -obviously- cannot be transported.

Note 535068 sheds some light on the history.

You can use RSTRANSP program or folow the below path in SE38.

In SE38 -> select variants radio button -> click display -> Give your variant name -> UTILITIES->Transport request.
