Costing Run is not showing BOM

Dear All,

I am facing a problem in system, i have created the BOM's in system, due to incorrect data i have to delete them from system, which i did via menu of BOM not via Deletion indicator. Than i created an other BOM of same material with alternative 2. Now system is showing the same BOM at Production Version as well. But the system is not picking up any bom during cost estimate run.

I m using Change Number for BOM's.

I m using 4.7.

I have tested the same scenario with new product it is working fine so i don't have any problem with my configuration, the deletion has limited the effectivity date of BOM to the date on which i have deleted them. I need help how to resolve the issue or how to change the date of bom alternative 1 as system is not reading bom alternative 2

Hi Noor,

It looks as the system is picking up the PV no 1 by default,

While running the cost estimate manually enter the PV which you want the system to be picked up.

else see what is the selection method maintain in MMR, maintian it as '2' selection by PV.

If you do not want to use PV no 1in future also change the valid to date to a previous date (say yesterday's date)

& then try running the cost estimate.

try this & revert.

Hi Syed,

To my knowledge if you delete the BOM then u can create a BOM with the same alternative number. But u hav created an alternative 2 BOM. Check whether alternative 1 still exists in the system.

Check the validity from date of the production version, it should be same as the validity from date of Alternative 2 or it should be after the date of the deletion of alternative 1 BOM.

Check and revert

Thanx alot for ur reply. I have done the same as ur instructions but the issue still persists. I m using repetitive Manufacturing sos i m using rate routing in rate routing the component allocation is showing alternative 2 and in production version it is also showing that bom exists whenever i run consistency check. What else i can do.

Dear ,

Wht is the BOM /Routing Selection method did u choose in MRP4 view ? It should be selection by Production version -2 indicator .In MRP4 view PV did you change the Validity from and To daye in Details of PV? Please review that one .

I hope based on this you can select the PV or Else during cost estmate your can manually select the PV .

Are you using PCC ? In KKF6N , you can select PV manually if you pop down .

I do not think so u need to change the date .You have option to change the date by CC01 with Change number -Validity Date you can cahnge if your ECM is active and also Change Histro is active for Define Basic Data in SPRO

But you can try like this

Goto CS02-with same change number and Material of your frist BOM (Altenative One ) -Select the Header Cap-Goto Status Long Txt -You will find BOM Status -Re-assing Inactive Status ( 2) and Save .Do not delete BOM or Set Delition Flag .

Goto CA02-Change the BOM or Re-assing the Alternative 2 by hitting Componenet Alocation -It will pop up with Alternative two

Now goto MM02-MRP4 View -Select Production Version -Re-assing the Alternative 2 with same Group Counter and re-check .

Now run the cost estimate in CK11N or what ever u would like to do .
