Dummy Profit center

Hi Sap Experts,

What is the purpose of Dummy profit center. is it required in ECC6.0 Version, if it is required in ECC6.0 Version , why.

In profit center accounting under derivation rule what nature of accounts need to be taken either p&l Accounts or B/S Accconts.

Please give me the advise on the above quaries.

Hi,

The dummy profit center is default profit center to which the data is posted when the corresponding object has not been assigned to a profit center. By using this you can find what are all the objects are not linked with profit center.

The profit and loss account is taken either period accounting or cost of sales accounting. So you have to consider the accounts on the basis of this nature

Hi,

If you are not create any profit center in your controlling area, then postings directly goes to this dummy profit center. Also if you dont specify any P.C in your postings, system by default posts to dummy P.C.

Later on if you want you can transfers postings from dummy P.C to required one.
