Hi Techies,

I have installed SAP Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2008 R2 server (64 bit) using IIS 7.5 with out DB option, Installation completed successfully.

URL testing Information

http://uat-sapcnt01.fmguat.local:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo

serverType="SAP HTTP Content Server";serverVendorId="Copyright SAP AG, All rights reserved 1998, 2001";serverVersion="6400";serverPatch="9";serverBuild="201";pVersion="0046";serverStatus="running";serverStatusDescription="";serverDate="2010-06-16";serverTime="14:56:15";startUpDate="2010-06-16";startUpTime="14:19:17";lastAccessDate="2010-06-16";lastAccessTime="14:55:23";

However, when I try to create repository with CSADMIN tcode, I am getting error ''HTTP error: 405 Method Not Allowed'.

My settings are as follows

On Content server I give full permission to content Rep directory

On IIS I have allowed Unspecified CGI & ISAPI modules.

On Web DAV Authoring Rules, I have given permission read, write and source and allow All content, All users

Is Win 2008 R2 and MS IIS 7.5 is compatible with SAP Content Server 6.40

Please suggest, how to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Hi,

I had the same problem with Content server 6.4 running on Windows 2008 R2 IIS 7.5.

This is the list of IIS services which works for me at the end:

According to other post WebDAV is problem here.

To reset my changes I rather executed Websitemancs to redeploy Content server.

Now  http://<hostname>:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo works.

(I didn't install Cache...)

Hope it helps.

I recently found this note 1704365 - IIS roles not created by default when installing Content Server on Windows 2008 .  Looks to be what you have suggested

Dear all,

Sorry, I need to correct the last reply to this question. According to SAP Product Availability Matrix of SAP Content Server 6.40 the operating system Windows 2008 R2 is not yet supported. Up to now only Windows 2008 with IIS 7.0 can be used.

Best regards,

Dagmar

Hello,

We were having a problem trying to install Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5. The installer finished OK but there was no website created in IIS. When running WebSiteManCS.exe manually it returned an error.

We opened a message with SAP and they said that IIS 7.5 is not supported (7.5 is default on 2008 R2) and that we should install on a Windows 2008 Server with IIS 7.0. Check the PAM for more info: http://service.sap.com/pam.

On ISS 7.5:

1. Install Windows Authentication

2. Install IIS6 Managment Compability

3. Add ASP.NET v2.0 in Application Pools

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb397374(EXCHG.80).aspx

Then run WebSiteManCS.exe again.
