Hi,
Please check the environment variable DB2DB6EKEY. It needs to be the same value on both (CI and DI), or the decryption of the password will fail.
If the keys are different, please read SAP Note 963703 and the referenced Notes that match your installation media.
Regards, Joerg

Hi,
At both end the variable is same but on CI its in capital letter and on DI side the value is in lower case.
Is it case sensitive ???
I tried setting it up bt again its changes to lower case..
Do you knw the file name from where the DI is picking variable "DB2DB6EKEY", so that I can directly modify it in tht file itself.
Regards
Hi,
The key is case sensitive.
Most SAPinst versions support non-default DB2DB6EKEY values by specifying the parameter as an environment variable (When installin a DI for a non-default value on the CI). As well with your situation (db connect while installing dialog instance fails), there are detailed descriptions in the SAP note i referenced (963703) and the Notes referenced there.
Regards, Joerg
