Hi All,
We are planning to schedule full offline backup for one of our server in the midnight. Hence we tried to schedule stopsap and startsap command in WRKJOBSCDE. But even though we found jobs in WRKJOBSCDE released still it failed to start or stop sap.
Is there any other method we even checked sap note 93316. But not sure how to create CL commands
Else we plan to schedule a backup from GO SAVE - Option 21. Using this option will SAP shutdown happen properly. Please advice
Best Regards,
Hi vinodvijayankk,
I would say, that it is not really helpful without any CL knowledge ;-((
This is more or less required ...
btw: I would never recommend, to run an offline backup each night ... this makes SAP really slow ...
(on "old" (synced) online backup is as good for you !)

Dear
Your offline backup make system slow bcaz all buffer buffer entries in ST04 were cleared usally st04 buffer quality minimum 96% when you shutdown database and app server for offline backup when you restart the server you can see st04 buffer buffer entries were at 35% and it will take minimum two days to reach to 96% it all depend upon you RAM
