Invalid shared memory Key=34

Hi,

I installed a double stack (ABAP+Java) instance for ECC6.0 and PI 7.0 (unicode 32 bit) with oracle 10.2 database runing on windows 2003 server SP2. After i applied sp15 for PI successfuly and restarted the jee server, i could not log on to the java instance anymore.

I checked that the MMC has the status "green" in the "process list" for all processes, and could not find error under SAP folder "D:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\work". Just under "D:\usr\sap\<SID>\SCS01\work",there are some error message in the file dev_enqsrv and dev_enq.old:

Can you post the entire log? I had a similar issue, where the firewall was blocking the port of the message server..

Do you see something like WSAECONNRESET in the log?

I tested that the message server 3600 works, also the http port 50000 works.

I did not find anything like "WSAECONNRESET" in log file.

Would you like to check which log file? I post the dev_server0 for your reference.

According to this log, the java instance is started successfully... Your previous log was from the SCS instance. Can you post that one once more, but then the complete log?

Can you stop the SCS instance and remove shared memory key 34 manually using saposcol -D

If the key has been removed, restart the SCS instance and check the dev_enqsrv log.

One more thing: can you check if SAPServiceSID user is member of the administrators group?

Could you please tell me the how to check the key 34 shared mem and delete it? The SAPserviceSID user has been added into the local administrator group.

However i had a test for server reboot, the sam error occurs.

Hi Zhong,

Have you tried to start the SCS with the virus scanner turned off?

If you enter saposcol -d , than check help. Here you find commands to check and clean memory.

Try this: stop all instances, reboot windows, stop the virus scanner and start all instance.

Got the root cause. The run mode is changed to "SAFE" by some unknown reason, change it back to "NORMAL", the system works again.

I tried the following:

reboot the server and restart SAP;

Updated the SAP kernel to the latest;

Increase the pagefile to 16GB;

decrease the java max heap size from 1024 to 512M.

but all in vain.
