it can be maintained

while extending the material to different plant u can change the valuation class

eg: for ROH we have 3000, 3001, 3002..

so for the same material in differnt plants we can have different valuation class we have to maintain in master data in accouting view

in one [plant we have 3000 in other we can have 3001

possible only when you are uning split valuation, you can assigne valuation class for valuation type wise

split valuation is used when a material has to be valuated differently in the same plant. it can be helpful in case of:

1. same material bought domestic as well as import

2. material produced in-house as well as bought externally

3. same material being a new & used / repair material

etc.,

anyway thanks for the reply.

please check for the error message i get while changing the valuation class and let me know.

i appreciate your helping tendency.

MBEW-BKLAS stores valuation class. MBEW is at valuation area level.

Since valuation area level is generally plant it means you can define valuation class at plant level.

hi,

thanks for your reply,

my valuation level is plant.

but when i tried to assign different valuation class for the material in MMR using MM02, it gives me error message like

please check valuation class - message no: SY 002

please guide me.

Since message-id is "SY" I do not think it is a functional problem (if it would be functinal problem you should get message like this: "M3180").

Maybe you should do some debugging to find out what triggers the message or you can contact basis team to examine the problem (system problem, authorization, etc?).

remark:

Split valuation was mentioned properly in a previous thread, so you can define valuation class at valuation area/valuation type level (key fields in MBEW are MATNR/BWKEY/BWTAR)

thank you so much,

what can be done, if we are already having split valuation for that material.
