All companies are 100% subsidiary and no minority interest

The following changes are occured in month of May.

Company code 9033 which is 100% holding by 9099 is becoming sub group by acquiring company codes 9024, 9025 and 9575

Also another change as below:

9033 is holding by 68% by 9099 and 32% by 9579.

So pls suggest me the steps involved in this scenario for consolidation of May 2010 whic is my current period.

COnsol frequency is monthly.

Thanks in Advance,

Richard

In addition to what is already suggested, it is important that the master data changes are correct. 9033 must remain in group 9099 as well as be added to the new subgroup. The same goes for the other cons units.

The date of divestiture must not change in either cases (12/9999) for 9033, 9024, and 9025 but must change to 5/2010 for 9575. The first consolidation for 9575 in the new group must be set retroactive to what it is in the old subgroup.

Hi Dan,

Many thanks for your reply. Appreciate the way you have explained.

Further need some clarification on the below statement:

" The first consolidation for 9575 in the new group must be set retroactive to what is in the old Group"

For me the first consolidation is december 2009, so in the group 9570, 9575 is set to first consolidation on 12, 2009.

Now in the new group for 9575 under "9033", i am giving the first consolidation as 05, 2010. Is it correct or I need to maintain as 12, 2009.

Second question:

Do I need to create org change number for 9033? or for any other case.

Third question:

In case if new group 9033 is purchasing a parent company of a sub group, what are the steps required to be done.

Many thanks for your response.

Thanks in Advance,

Richard

Because 9575 under "9033" is at a higher level in the hierarchy (or appears so to me) the first consolidation should be 12, 2009 because it has always been a part of this group via the association of the lowere-level subgroup.

The org change numbers are used for when the gain/loss on divestiture is to be ignored, or not recorded. If that is the case, then org change number should be used, otherwise it is not needed.

If the 9033 group is acquiring parent of other subgroup SAP recommends a new subgroup be created for this. Then the cons unit of the divesting cons group be added to the new acquiring group.

Hi Dan,

Many thanks for your promt reply. I will try accordingly by keeping First consolidation as 12, 2009.

Regarding the new group I will raise another thread, as this thread will become mor confusing.

AGain many thanks for your prompt and expert advice on this.

Best Regards,

Richard

Dear Richard,

For the first change : you need to use a transfer activity because the Parent of these 3 subsidiaries changes within the Group. Just transfer the investment from the old to the new (9033) parent.

For the second change, I think it is the same principle : 9099 transfers a part of its investment to 9579 (Partial transfer).

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Thibaud
