Problems with Equity Data as AFD in First Consolidation Activity

Hi Experts

We are implementing SEM-BCS 6.0 with the COI functionality using the purchase method according to Local GAAP, we decided to have the investment data as AFD and the equity data as both Totals and AFD, taking RE and Dividends from Totals, and the rest of the activities (1st consolidation, inc. and red.of capitalization) taken from AFD. The AFD is loaded via flat file so that they could insert additional field data such as short description of the movement and date of the movement, those fields were inserted previously in the data stream fields tab as additional fields in the equity and investement data in our data basis. This is useful because we wanted to have all the detailed historical movements of investments and equity from previous years available for consultation.

The other settings are:

Goodwill generated per method with amortization

Statistical Equity Items generated and same minority interest item assigned to each equity item

Net Income Tab and Distirbution of Dividends Tab mantained in Appropiation of Retained Earnings

Statistical Net Income Items created and assigned

Default sequence of activities with no changes

COI method with Purchase Method, group shares and ordinary amortization

We ran the "Check Settings" function and we only recieve warnings for investment items not been mantained in the statistical equity tab, but they appear in the Minority Interest tab so we decided to ignore the messages.

The problem comes when running de COI Task, previously we uploaded first consolidation data as AFD in Investments and Equity and ran the Activity Number Matching.

When running the COI task the generated document that has all the Elimination, Minority Interest and Goodwill entries displays the following error message: UCD1011 Balance sheet/income statement balance X,XX, meaning that the document is not correctly balanced. Note: the clearing items for B/S and I/S in selected items are correctly defined.

We analyzed the document and saw that that the Minority Interest data was not correct. In fact the minority interest amount corresponded to the 100% of the equity, as if the share was 0% and that is not the case, but the goodwill was calculated correctly according to the share we uploaded. Example:

A's share in B is 90%

A's investment value = 1000

B's equity = -1000

MI should be -100 and Goodwill 100

The document should be:

Company Item Period Value GC

A Investment -1000

B Equity 1000

B MI -100

B Stat Equity -900

B Stat Clearing 900

A Goodwill 100

Our COI task generates the following, with an incorrect -900 total balance:

Company Item Period Value GC

A Investment -1000

B Equity 1000

B MI -1000

B Stat Equity -900

B Stat Clearing 900

A Goodwill 100

There is no problem in generating the MI if we take the equity data from the Totals Data but we need the AFD for first consolidation activities in our initial run.

Any clue or solution is appreciated

Regards

Are you certain the percentage of ownership is entered correctly in AFD? It may need to be corrected.

As far as I know yes, the investment data we loaded is shown correctly in the task log. equity data is also shown in the overall column, but the same amounts are also shown in the MI column, and no amounts are shown in the Group column, but the Differential (the goodwill) is correct even though I don't see values in the group column

We are going to continue testing the functionality, I think the problem lies in the equity data, but I'm not sure, anyway thanks

Hi

The problem was solved after sending a message to SAP, the problems is related to our changes in the additional fields of the AFD , but with note 1495730 the posting documents are generated correctly in COI and balance is fine.
