DMS and Enterprise Content Management. Is it possible to use java API?

Hello,

we have DMS component with documents. Also the Enterprise Content Management has the "ECM Integration Layer API". Is it possible to use that API to get documents from DMS?

I suggest it isn't possible cause of the DMS has complex internal structure, it uses Content Server only to store files, meanwhile the ECM's API just uses Content Server and nothing more.

So we should use FM's from Java to work with DMS. Am I right?

Kindly check by implementing a BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW. I think your requirement is not feasible.
