We want to write off some materials from our inventory. I tried using movement type 551 using migo after doing the settings in tcode 'oms2' with 'value update' untick. Here qty gets reduced, but the value remains in Inventory account. Pls tell me how to write off the material with out any impact in material consumption account as well in inventory account. It can hit in any dummy gl account or in the inventory change account. pls give your valuable feedbacks.
From system side you can issue to an account either you create a dummy GL or with the normal scrapping process with inventory account, but this is a standard practice that while stock comes in it should move out to any place with financial entries or reverse your GR.
Copy the 551 mvt type and create new Zmvt type and for that in OBYC change the GL (Create some dummyy GL a/c after discuss with FI) in the GBB account modifier and provide these dummy G/L . System will propose these a/c while posting Goods issue.
We cannot reverse these materials as the materials were porcured before 5 years. Pls specify how to proceed with physical inventory movements as you suggested. Pls make a note that it should not hit consumption accounts.
