I'm trying to install the SAP ERP 6.0 on a Linux Redhat 5.4 machine and the gui for the install does not come up
Here is the message

My env. is the following
java version "1.6.0"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0-b09)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0-b09, mixed mode)
Memory in the machine is 16 GB. I have tried bringing up the installer on a different linux redhat 5.4 machine and there are no issues there
Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated
Thank you both for your reponse.
I did try changing the java to 1.4.2 but I still get the same behaviour. The gui just hangs.
Here's my new env.
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-46)

On RHEL5 Linux, the IBM 1.4.2 (SR13) JDK will sometimes not work with sapinst. I have yet to get it to work.
Trying loading the IBM 1.4.2 (SR12) version of the JDK and then run sapinst. After all installing is finished and you are sure that there's no more sapinst, you can then put SR13 back on. That is the recommended JDK for running your application.
It's a bit tedious flipping back and forth but that works for me.
