/POSDW/TLOGS table of POSDM occupying high disk space

Former Member

Hi All,

In our BI system we have the POSDM as well. As of now, 3 months after implementation, the table /POSDW/TLOGS is occupying nearly 100 GB of disk space and growing.

What are the contents of this table? Can this data be purged after a certain time period?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Bijesh

Hi All,

Any inputs please. Currently /POSDW/TLOGS table of POSDM is occupying nearly 20% of complete database.

Pls suggest how to go about deleting data from this table.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Bijesh,

You can archive the POS Transactions and POS Aggregates by using Tcode SARA and then choose the following Archiving objects

1./POSDW/TL - for POS Transactions

2./POSDW/AGG - for POS Aggregates

Then you can either Write date to the archive or Delete archived data from the system

Alternatively you can also run the following reports which run in archive administration in the background

1.Write POS transactions to an archive: /POSDW/ARCHIVE_WRITE

2Delete archived POS transactions from the system: /POSDW/ARCHIVE_DELETE

3Read archived POS transactions: /POSDW/ARCHIVE_READ

4.Reload archived POS transactions: /POSDW/ARCHIVE_RELOAD

5.Write POS aggregates to an archive: /POSDW/ARCHIVE_WRITE_AGGREGATE

6.Delete archived POS aggregates from the system: /POSDW/ARCHIVE_DELE_AGGREGATE

7.Read archived POS aggregates: /POSDW/ARCHIVE_READ_AGGREGATE

Hope it helps

Hi Aram,

Thanks for the reply.

We did not use the archive option. But we managed to find the tcode /n/POSDW/DELE to delete the data from PIPE. This resolved our issue.

Hi Bijesh,

I have the same issue, our table is grouing to much.

Wen you use the transaction /n/POSDW/DELE , this transaction only delete the log or delete some data too ?

Hi Tiago,

Since the table /POSDW/TLOGS contains all the transaction logs of POS sales, it is usual for it to grow in size while accommodating daily sales data.

You can use /POSDW/DELE to delete tlogs and /POSDW/DELE to delete aggregates from the table.

More over, you can try option of achieving using tcode sara (Arch object /POSDW/TL) to archive and delete the sales data.
