CE7.2 and EP

Can anyone describe the difference between CE 7.2 and EP.

CE is SAP'S SOA development environment.

EP is part of CE server.

As per your comment EP is a part of CE. Now I had one doubt, in my office we are using EP and now we recently done CE7.2 So I can do same what the procees running in EP to CE7.2. Is it possible?

Hi Sampath,

As long as you are not using KM or collaboration, the portal that is part of CE is fully functional and thus can be run standalone or integrated into a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 portal via federation.

CE EP is built on new platform, so there will be some difference compared with NW7 EP.

1. CE EP has no KM and collaboration.

2. configuration and administration may vary

3.NW7 EP content may not be deployed to CE EP directly

CE is a composite environment that consists of a development bundle:

---development tools (NWDS, VC and so on)

---development management - NWDI

---Portal (EP)

and so on.

EP - is enterprise portal.
