Hi Experts
Could someone please advise how long a client refresh from Production to Quality should normally take. We do not currently have in house basis expertise and the external consultancy who manage the basis functions for us are saying it will take 5 days to do this refresh. Our production system does not have massive amounts of data in it so i would have thought it would take 2 days maximum.
Could someone please advise how long a normal refresh would take?
Many thanks.
Simon
Dear Simon,
Its depend upon which method you wants to use and your server database size but its not take more than 2,3 days

Hi,
No guess will work as it is purely depends upon hardware resources and data volume of SAP Ssystem,
Our production system does not have massive amounts of data in it so i would have thought it would take 2 days maximum
You may be right as for me it never took more than 2 days , but giving expected time is not possible.
To reduce the time you may use system copy option which will be copy of full production system and moreover you can utilize any latest available offline database backup.

You're right... it should not take 5 days...
Is your system ABAP, ABAP+JAVA?
If ABAP only, it can be done from an offline backup in a day or less (Depending on amount of data an hardware), using client export/import pretty much the same, if ABAP+JAVA counting the exports an import using Homogeneous SC it should be no more than 2 or 3 days.
5 days is a bit much in my opinion, now from the consultant point of view they might be taking a overcautious approach.

Juan

Our system is SAP EWM and we are operating on ABAP plus SQL.
There is only 2 weeks worth of data on the production system for reasons i will not explain here.
They have switched off the quality system today and are saying it will not be back up until the refresh has finished, which will be Friday. So basically no QAS for an entire week.
