SDK uninstall: Removing backup files lasts for hours

Hi, all!

I'm having problems with SAP SDK uninstallation: it works quick and fine until it goes to "Removing backup files..." title and after that stucks for hours. Have the same problem during uninstalling SAP B1 client, left it for night and in the morning - voila! - it was at the next screen. But I don't have time for waiting. I've found, that setup writes logs to "C:\Windows\SAP Business One Software Development Kit.log" and found, that it stucked on action above:

it tries to find something in registry and there are already ~100 000 lines in log file.

I've examined "SAP Business One Client.log" file and found that:

Action start 18:28:16: SxsUninstallCA.
...
Action ended 20:39:29: SxsUninstallCA. Return value 1.
Action start 20:39:29: ISSetupFilesCleanup.

So, yesterday it took almost 2 hours to finilize this task!!!

Is it a bug?

Could I improve uninstallation speed?

I have the same situation but with B1 Client, stuck on removing backup files, after hours it completes installation. I go to different customers with different versions and need to install/uninstall the client several times a week.

Hi,

Is it occured in the server of B1 ? What I mean is about the uninstallation location. if you uninstall the SDK from remote desktop or B1 user's PC, it is probably takes time but it is impossible last for hours.

Are you removed it from add/remove program ?

No, it has happened on client machine with direct access. I removed B1 8.8 Client and other components (SDK, DI, DTW) from "Add/Remove Programs". And in two cases - with Client and SDK - it were browsing registry pretty long, more than 2 hours, and generated ~290K lines in "C:\Windows\SAP Business One Client.log".
