Hi,
I am currently installing a System with NetWeaver 7.0 includung Enhancement Package 2.
SAPINST is now asking for a second Kernel DVD, but does not accept it.
It says:
"Found the label SAP:AKK:720:DVD_KERNEL:SAP Kernel 7.20:Dxxxxxxx::D51039352 but need label SAP:SAPLUP:700:::"
Which DVD do I need to proceed with the Installation?
Thanks in advance.
kind regards
Stefan
Problem is solved:
The missing DVD was:
51039102_13 SL CONTROLLER 700
Now sapinst is running again.

Hi Stefan,
I have the same problem with the NW 7.31 installation:
You entered: K:\Kernel
Found the label SAP:AKK:721_EXT:DVD_KERNEL:SAP Kernel 721_EXT:Dxxxxxxxx:*:D51049463 but need the label SAP:SAPLUP:72:*:*:*
Do you know where can I find this software? please.
Regards
Oscar

Hi Oscar,
since the old installation media is replaced with SWPM you shouldn't run into the problem.
Are you using SWPM for your installation?
If not you can find it here: https://service.sap.com/sltoolset
- Open the link
- Click on "Software Logistics Toolset 1.0" on the left side
- look for the "Software Provisioning" section on the right side
- Use the links "download tool" and "download Kernel releases delivered for SL Toolset" to download the files (there are two versions of SWPN, one is for older releases - you need the newer one. When in doubt just download them both and extract them, you'll see which is the right one when you look for your release after starting the sapinst)
- extract the archives and start the installation as usual.
Hope this helps a bit. If you have any questions just let me know.
Regards,
Stefan

FYI to all - I am installing SolMan 7.1 and faced the same issue. I had to provide "SL CONTROLLER 700 " which was material # 51040870_9

Hi All,
I am facing a somewhat same issue. Although this question has been answered, I hope someone can help me.
As a postprocessing step of ERP6.0 EHP5 I am updating our dialog instances (AIX/oracle). For this I have dowloaded the instmaster DVD 51040879_1 and the kernel DVDs 51039102_1, 51039102_2, 51039102_13, 51039102_14. According to SAP note 1562522 I have unzipped the kernel DVD files to one single directory and see all extracted components in there.
When I run SAPinst it only asks for the location of the kernel DVD, which is accepted. At a certain moment during the SAPinst process however (after the selection of instance nr) it shows the following error message:
========
FCD-00001 The package with name SAPLUP was requested but this package is not defined in the packages section of the component. SOLUTION: Contact installation development.
========
The SAPLUP is present in the kernel directory location that I have entered (and is accepted by SAPinst) during the SAPinst process. However, one way or another it cannot find it.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Regards,
Bart.

If you look at the info files they indicate both the Non-Unicoe and Unicode DVD's are split volumes. The SAP Note 1258173 - Downloading logically-split volumes didn't explain you could re-combine these. Through trail an error I decided to re-combine all 4 DVD's: 51039102_1, 51039102_2, 51039102_13, and 51039102_14. Doing this got me past this error.

Hi,
I also had this problem with Solution Manager 7.1.
Just search for: "51039102_13 SL CONTROLLER 700".
This contains the correct software.

Richard

Hi Richard,
Thank you for your investigation. For Solution Mananager 7.1 SR1 install, the required LABEL.ASC is in NW_7.02_Kernel_7.20_HP_AIX_SOL_z_OS/DATA_UNITS/SL_CONTROLLER_700/
download link: https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~swdc/012002523100009006542010E/51039102_13.ZIP?_ACTION=DL_DIRECT
Very funny...
I write here the content of the LABEL.ASC which is missing in the Solman 7.1. install: SAP:SAPLUP:700:*:*:*
for better google hits. 🙂
Great job done!
Regards
Hi,
Sorry for rushing with my first posting, it did accept the CD !
I browsed through the directories and found the LABEL.ASC containing the required string. But this is a bit confusing. The media seems to be for wrong types of installations.

I am installing NW7.0 EHP2 on Linux / MaxDB and get the same errort message for the second Kernel CD. When I download the media mentioned above and unzip it appears to be for AIX and Solaris even though I find it from Linux/MaxDB installations. The LABEL.ASC does not match, either.
LABEL.ASC:
SAP:AKK:720:DVD_KERNEL:SAP Kernel 7.20:Dxxxxxxxx:*:D51039102
CDLABEL.ASC:
SAP EHP2 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0
Kernel 7.20
AIX 64bit, z/OS 64bit
HP-UX (IA64 64bit, PA-RISC 64bit)
Solaris (SPARC 64bit, x64 64bit)
Number 51039102

Hi Pekka,
I installed NW7.02 on a windows platform and used the SL Controller DVD with the same label:
SAP EHP2 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0
Kernel 7.20
AIX 64bit, z/OS 64bit
HP-UX (IA64 64bit, PA-RISC 64bit)
Solaris (SPARC 64bit, x64 64bit)
Number 51039102
It worked fine.
Does sapinst accept the SL Controller DVD in your case?
Hi Stefan Schaffert
Thanks for sharing valuable information.
I was also weird when it asked for 2nd Kernel and solved the problem by going through your suggestion.
Can you also throw some light how you find this solution.
Thanks & Regards,
Bharath.

Hi Mark,
the splitted archives in this case are the different platforms (IA32, IA64, x64). I downloaded only the required archive and sapinst accepted it (UC Kernel 7.20 Windows Server on x64 64Bit) without any problems.
After that there where several configuration screens and now it is asking for a kernel DVD again, but doesn't accept the DVD mentioned above (which makes sense, since it already knows this DVD).
The label shows also, that it is not the kernel DVD that it missing, since all kernel DVD have SAP:AKK: in the label, but here sapinst is asking for SAP:SAPLUP, but I have never heard of that.

When you check the info file of the kernel you see the following: 51039352_3 Content - ATTENTION SPLITTED ARCHIV - FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE READ NOTE 1258173
Looks like you need more than only one kernel DVD.
Kind regards,
Mark
