PR Relase Strategies creation

Hi

we want to change some PR users & Material group one existing PR release strategie to new release strategie.

for this i have done the folloiwng .

1) Release Code Creation

2) Copy existing Release strategy and change desired release code

Transport new pr release strategie to production server.

in Production Server Uncheck ( User , Material group ) from previous release strategie and Select ( User , Material Group ) new release strategie.

please validate i am correct.

2nd thing >>> Where we assign Release code to sap user. \ or give rights to user ( may be in Basis rights ) ???

Hi

Based on the release codes and release stratergies baisis people asign to users.

just copy old release stratergies - and define the release codes - define new characterstics -

like as you mentioned.

1st

For giving rights of release code & Release procedure to sap user. "where it can be done in basis" \ or which objects needs to tell to basis guy.

2nd

For chractristics values ( PR type, Material groups , Names of person who create pr i.e. sap users ) in Production server. DO WE NEED TO do sap production server Modifyable for adding chractristics value ?

3rd

Actually we have to shift some material groups from previous release strategy to new release strategy. and there are some PRs in pipeline .what are the effects on those PRs.

Hi,

1. PLease ask Basis to add Tcode ME55 and ME54N and give proper authorisations for release code in Object -- M_BANF_FRG

2. Not required to do production to be modifyable. You can add values for the characteristics in CT04

3. Unless there is change in OLD PRS in terms of characteristsc value (E.g. Amount, qty etc), new release strategy will not be applicable for those PRs

Hi

in CT04 , we add characterstics values ok. but in release strategie setup, > classification > we select that charactries values from all charactrisc values. How to select charactristics values for particular relase strategie ?

1 & 3 are ok.

You can do the same in CL20N with class type 032

Hi,

You will ahve what release class is maintained for PR release strategy.

Go to CL02 - "PR Release Class" - Class Type 032 - Display. At Char. tab you will come to know what are characteristics arae maintained for PR release.

Copy those and in CT04 add values for theose caharacteristics one by one.
