BW Verions required for BO XI Versions (SAP Docs Needed)

Hello Gurus,

I had been going through lot of SAP documents and couldn't poolup the grid related to the Minimum BW Versions with (Support Pack Level, Enhancement Pack Level & J2EE versions) mandatory required for the below BO XI versions in an SAP Document for this client.

BO XI 3.1 SP2 requires BW 7.01,SP5, EHP 1, J2EE 7.01

BO XI 3.1 SP3 requires BW 7.02,SP2, EHP 1, J2EE 7.02

BO XI 4.0 (? is ther a SP) requires BW 7.x(is this 7.3), SPx (?), EHPx (?), J2EE 7.3

Is there any SAP document confirming the above information. Is ther any other BO XI & BW versions available?

Hello Stratos,

Thanks for the response. I am working on different perspective of BO XI integration with SAP Netweaver BW with all below requirements:

1) Basic Supported Platforms

2) Tool Enhancements & New Tools

3) Connectivity Options (No BO Integration Kit) (xCelsius, Explorer as a minimum)

4) Browser support (IE & Safari for minimum)

Since i am an technical architect here i need to prove every bit of information i provide to this clinet with an SAP doc covering atleast the above scenario's. I still have separate roadmap for BEx enhancements with different BW versions.

Also i heard that BW 7.5 is Ramping-up for Q4/2011 is that true?

For the XCelsius direct connectivity to SAP NW check the following note

Regarding BOE XI 3.1 SP x and NW/SAP BW check the Supported platforms documentation. Keep in mind that there are 2 aspects here

1) Data/authenticaiton connectivity: Look at the supported platforms documentation for the integration kit for SAP solutions.

2) Using NW as a web server for a BOE system: Look at the supported platforms documentation for the BO Enterprise XI 3.1

You write:

Do you mean the Business Explorer or the BusinessObjects Explorer? THe BusinessObjects explorer requires anyway a BOE installation (Even the BWA version).

Regarding browser support please take a look at the Supported platforms documentation for BOE XI 3.1 and XCelsius.

Thanks a lot GuruAdmin regarding XI 3.1 SP3 I already have that document and it is misleading because i am doing a Roadmap for xCelsius Direct connect to BW as a key minimum goal and the BW 7.01 doc confirms that EHP1 is a basic requirement for this functionality. What these docs provide is just the basic platform support for SAP servers to use SP3 let me give you an e.g. below?

SLIDE 6 - Supported App Server

SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2) (4) JDK 1.4.2_xx

SAP NetWeaver 7.1 JDK 1.5.0_xx

Thanks a lot Ingo there are tons of conflicting documents in this link http://service.sap.com/bosap-support and it talks about only installation support platform for these versions.

Supporting the XCelsius direct connectivity to SAP BW Netweaver is something completely different than supporting the integration of BO XI 3.1 with SAP BW which was your initial question.

Can you please clarify what are you exactly looking for? Do you want to integrate a BOE XI 3.1 system in your BW landscape?

Or do you want to use XCelsius and save your dashboards directly in Netweaver (direct connectivity over BICS)?

We are trying to do a Roadmap in this client and to clarify i am looking SAP Confirmation on which the SP Equivalence, EHP, SP are minimum required and i could only get the below:
