SBO Client Virtualization

Hello,

I will migrate my customer SBO from 2007 to version 8.8.

The architecture is this one :

SQLServer and SBO Server are installed in a server

SBO client is installed on 2 servers, and is accessed by the users via Citrix

I saw on the SAP market place that virtualization is supported for SBO Server.

In my case, the interest may be the virtualization of the servers for SBO Client.

But I have not found information of the virtualization of SBO Client.

Can anyone help me?

Regards.

Hi,

thanks for your welcome and your interest.

The migration to SBO 8.8 increases the needs of ressources (https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/smb/sbo/platforms) and the number of users on my system will increase too.

For these reasons, I have to change the machines on which the client is installed.

I am thinking about using a big machine which could virtualize 3 client environments instead of 3 physical machines.

I don't want to use only one big machine without virtualization for reason of disponibility if one of the machines crashes.

Best regards.

If you have a bigger machine, you may install Terminal server instead. So you can have more than 3 users.

oh, in fact I have about 400 different users and 50 max at the same time.

I use Citrix presentation server on the machines where the client is installed, users connect with Citrix client to SBO client.

About max 25 users on each server.

Each user consume a part of the resources of the machine.

The users are all over the world and connect to the SBO client on one or the other machine on which the client is installed.

This is a typical setting for remote connection to B1. What about virtual client?

Virtual client is nothing but Citrix or terminal server client. You have set it up already.

Hi,

Welcome you post on the forum.

I could not understand what benefits you can get from this virtual client. Could you explain your need more?

Thanks,

Gordon
