Hi Friends,
I am trying to delete a material by archiving and deletion with standard transactions MM71 / MM70.
while archiving, the system throws an error that "Material Used in BOM". However this material was used in a BOM but later removed from that. System is finding link between material and BOM from different tables.
currently the material is not used in any BOM. can someone suggest me how to proceed in this case.
Thanks a lot
Rohit
Hi Rohit,
Material which you are deleting might be in BOM and in production order of other matrerial as a component in this case you have to go to that BOM and Production order and then delete the subsequent line item containing that material.
If the material which you are deleting is haveing its own BOM and inturn its Production Order then you have to delete the entire BOM and Production Order itself.

Hi Jürgen,
The entries are present in STPO a and MAST. The material was once used and then deleted from BOM (against a change number). The material can be seen in CS03 with no validity dates. but its not valid as per current date as it is no longer valid (CS02).
How do i remove this link.
Thanks,
Rohit

this material either has an own BOM or is conatained in a BOM of a different material, so you should be able to find the BOM with CS03 or CS15. alternative you can search in tables STPO and MAST.
Setting a deletion flag at BOM isw not enough, the BOM must physically not exist, means it has to be deleted or archived first.
