Mandatory field per material type

Hello Experts!

I have been asked to make MARA-EXTWG as a mandatory field in the material master. However, they only want it done for a specific material type. As it is a Basic Data view field, is it possible?

Hi,

Keep one separate Field reference for that material type (Create a Field reference in OMS9 t.code & assign Field reference to material type in OMS2)for which you need to have MARA-EXTWG as a mandatory field in the material master.

Now follow the steps to have mandatory field in material master:

1.Just click the TAB ,(Which you want to have mandatory )and get the field name MARA-EXTWG

2. Use T.Code: OMSR and enter that field name MARA-EXTWG and get FIELD SELECTION GROUP 151

3. Use T.Code: OMS2 and click your material type(you used to create that material) and in next screen check Field reference ( you have assigned for the material type){{ ( example-->For ROH material type the "Field reference" is ROH). For Your case you have separate Field reference for that material type.

4. Now use T.code:OMS9, Double Click your "Field Reference" and select FIELD SELECTION GROUP 151 & select round box of Required Entry and save.
