Unable to start J2ee engine after upgrading SP stack 07

Hi Everyone,

Good Morning.

We have newly built EP 7.01 system on IBM DB2 V 9.7 FP3 on Windows 2008 R2. We are trying on update Support pack stack 07 . After Installing support pack stack 07 we found no errors in deployement however JSPM says could not able to start J2ee Engine start manually and resume the deployement.

When we try to start it manually we observed that Jcontrol dies with Rc 66 as soon as it starts. please find below DEV_Jcontrol.log and bootstrap.log.

DB Services are running fine as I am able to login into Config tool.Also tried to increase VM Heap Memory parameters but no luck.

Also R3trans -d fails with Rc 12 .. Please find trans.log file as below.

regarding the problem during the startup of the AS Java, check (and post) the latest entries in the defaultTrace.

Resolved the issue my self ..problem with j2ee_admin user.

Hi Vinod,

R3trans is looking for file '
ESS\sapmnt\EPD\SYS\global\dscdb6.conf' . The host 'ESS' is derived from the environment setting of either SAPGLOBALHOST or DSCDB6HOME . Check if this is ok. A 3 char host name looks somewhat unusual.

Netweaver Portal system do not have R3trans program.

Also, there is no dscdb6.conf for the java only system.

If your portal is using ABAP dual stack, then it will have R3trans program and dscdb6.conf.

Please, confirm that.

If your portal is ABAP dual stack, go ahead and create the dscdb6.conf and then try it.

If your portal is java only system, then try to patch the kernel and check again.
