Dear Experts.
we are using SRM 7.0. In our scenario, the user will log in in his local language like German or Portuguese ( which are maintained in user personalization) . But in ERP Back end all the Master data is maintained in English only.
When we create a shopping Cart in local language system giving error message that Material descriptions are not maintained in the language.
We hare tried with changing the user settings to English in SU01 and Portal User settings. But still the SRM Portal is showing in login language and giving error. ie., User Personalization settings taking precedence.
Is it possible to maintain two languages in SRM Portal ? ( User will login in local language and use SRM in English Language)
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Ram
Hello,
You have to maintain material description for all languages which will be used in SRM portal.
I have never seen a scenario where userl logs in local language and SRM in english language.

Dear All,
If we wish to create Shopping cart in local language, what are the Master Data is to be maintained in that language. For example if we want to create a Shopping Cart in German Language what are the Master Data descriptions are to be maintained in German Language ( We are aware of the system is checking Material Group Description and Order Unit)

Ram
Ram,
install the language and make sure all descriptions are maintained in the new language as well. In the master data you can use the translate funtion to maintian the language.
1. check SMLT
german and english should be predefined. Any other languages required check with your Basis team.
thanks
Hi,
I think it is not possible.
Workaround is creating custom program which copy "English" text of material master to other local languages.

Masa
