Flag or message when production order is released for 2 x material in WIP

Is it possible to let SAP raise a flag / e-mail or SMS a message, if a production order is released for a material that we already have in WIP. Example, if we release a order for material ABC and there is already a production order for material ABC in WIP, a flag must be raised, or managers must be notified via e-mail or SMS.

It is possible. First, you have to find out an user exit which will be triggered during order release, which will find open orders for that material. If so, it will trigger a workflow and message would be sent to concerned person.
