Dear Niteshh,

According to the note 365604

....

. In the overall release, the system only

considers the characteristics th at are identical for all items.

If, for example, item 10 of a PO contains

material group 001 and item 20 contains material group 002, the

material group is set to BLANK for the strategy determination.

....

This means that

if an overall release strategy is used all characteristics which

do not have the same value will be set to blank.

As you are using an overall release strategy all

characteristics which you have defined in the customizing

must have the same value. If one item has material class x and the

other y the system does not know with which material class it should

look for a release strategy. Now the system sets the material class

to 'blank' and tries to find a release strategy.

This is also valid for the plant.

you need

to add a blank value to your allowed characteristic values in your

release strategy. To do this you can define a blank value in your

characteristic (CT04). On the values screen leave the char.value

blank and add a description and save. Now in trx (*)

OLME > Po > release strategy > set up procedure with

classification > Release Strategies > classification

you can select

this value as an allowed value for the characteristic.

(Example:

To avoid this you can do the following:

- go into transaction CT04

- enter the characteristic 'CEKKO-WERKS'

- click on the tab 'values'

- set a flag in 'additional values'

- in the column 'Char. value' do not enter anything

- in the column 'Description' enter a text like 'no plant'

- save this setting

Now

- go into transaction OMGS (PO> relaesew strategy) -> button 'release strategy'

-> button 'classification'

- double click on CEKKO-werks' and set a flag in 'no plant' )

Please also have a look into the attached note 365604 point 2d).

If you are using the user exit EXIT_SAPLEBND_002.

the following statment must

be included within the activated SAP enhancement M06E0004 (include

zxm06u22) for purchasing documents:

E_CEKKO = I_CEKKO.

I hope this can be of help

i think, keeping a char value blank will work when that value is not present in the document ( e,g account assignment )

if the document carry multiple values, then the strategy should have all the values in the document.

Hi,

In the charateristic(CT04) set multiple values indicator and in values tab set additional value indicator. Check for Not ready for input indicator is not set.

If u want all plants then select * as charatirctic value.

Also check if right table -field combination selected(CEKKO-WERKS).

Assign this characteristic to class of 032.

Define Release strategy and select cha as "*" for all plants. If u have set the above additional vules indicator then u can enter here multiple plants name.

Save and after sme time create PO and check release strategy.

Hope it is useful

Hi Nadia,

Thanks for Your valuable Input, I am still little confused. In my case In Release Strategy classification I have selected All the plants for which I need release Strategy, Now my Query is this, Whether I have to leave the Charectorstics Blank for Plant In Release strategy Classification or I have to select any dummy classification.

Thanks

Nitesh.

Hi,

while creating characteristics in basic data tab give multiple values and in values tab give all the plants fr which you are creating PO.

fr example if there are 3 plants 1,2,3 . give in values tab all the 1,2,3 plants.

Regards,

Rajesh.
