Good Day,
I am building a TTT system from my PRD system using the homogeneous Database-Specific system/copy method for ORACLE.
The installation is failing at creating temp license phase on the ECC 6. 0 installation.
These are the steps performed so far
1. I am using these two manuals
a. System Copy for SAP Systems Based on SAP Netweaver 7.0 SR3 ABAP
b. SAP Netweaver 7.0 SR3 ABAP on Linux:Oracle
2. Environment of PRD is ECC 6.0 /Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 on Linux 4.6/ IA64.
3. TEST system is on a different IA64 system.
4. The restore of the database was successful using brrecover (note 1003028). The database is up and running.
5. I have received permanent license from OSS for <SID> "TTT", but cannot applied as I cannot logon to SAP.
6. Sample of sapinst.log with the errors
-
Output of /usr/sap/TTT/SYS/exe/run/saplicense -R3Setup TTT XXXXXX TRACE=2 is written to the logfile saplicense.log.

Will appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue.

Hi Vinod ,
When you trying to login into SAP what error message you are getting?
If you are able to open login page of SAP then you might be getting error in licnse check. To resolve this issue you need to disable SAP* with login/no_automatic_user_sapstar =0 in default profile and taking a restart of R3. Now login with SAP* user and apply license.
I hope this should resolve your issue.
Thanks..
Mohit

Hi Mohit,
The installation has not reach the phase to build instance profiles. I know I can manually copy from PRD system and create in TTT system., but I prefer the installation to create them, hnece SAP is not started.
This license issue needs to be resolved 1st, before installation can continue.
Regards,
Vinood.
Hi,
similar thing happened to me, the reason was an empty table sapuser after sapinst program recreates the OPS$ users.
If this happens again, check if table sapuser has contents:
select * from OPS$<SID>ADM.sapuser;
if table is empty, just use brtools to update the password for database user, inside the additional functions, , this will correctly update the sapuser table, and license will be correctly installed.
Hi Vinood,
Please copy-paste splicense.log, & dev_slic files here.
Thanks

Regards,
Vinood
Hi Vinood,
I found sapnote: 88886 which explains ORA-1408 during saplicense installation.
Here is the excerpt:
The index MLICHECK__0 must be deleted before you call saplicense or restart the phase in the R3INST with database tools.
To do this delete the index with sqlplus, sqldba or svrmgrl: drop index sapr3.mlicheck__0;
The problem can no longer occur as of 3.1H since index MLICHECK__0 is used for table MLICHECK as of 3.1H.
The index name corresponds to the SAP naming conventions.
Kindly try and inform us what is the result.
Thanks
Hi Vinood,
Sorry. The case wa the same, but your case seem to be the opposite of the sapnote.
On the sapnote, the index already exists, but in your case, the index does not exists during the deletion.
Could you please check table MLICHECK from your source and target system, and check the index for that table both in source and target system?
Can you perform brtools in your source system using ora<SID>?
Currently I don't have access to SAP system, I will update you soon.
Thank you.

Dear Vinood,
First, we need to check whether an index for table MLICHECK really exists.
Run the following command, then choose 3 then 2 (I put star on the option given).

If your result same with my screen above, than the index is exists, other than that, the index probably doesn't exists.
If your index doesn't exists try rebuild it by the following command, then put 1 then c as option.
brspace -f idrebuild -t mlicheck
If your index generation is success, then retry the sapinst.
If not, please inform us what the error message is.
Hope this help.
