Hi ,

I am trying to simply view a crystal report from CMC, the reports takes too long time and finally fails to view.

The report has dynamic params and it has to load millions of records.

Following info may help to undersatand the problem:

Environment Details: BOXI 3.1 sp2

Report : Crystal reports 2008

Report Type: ODBC Report , Repoting Database: DB2

- I am able to view otther reports of similiar kind.

- Problem only with this particulr reports.

- Able to view the reports from the Crystal reports 2008 Designer.

I tried increasing the timout for RAS Server in the registry but it didnt helped.

An any SAP Person watching this thread help finding out a solution ? Handful request !!

Regards,

Jon

DO you need to display millions of rows in a single report?

Hi,

Thanks for replying !!

Yes, actually we have drill down report so for one level drill we will have around 50 thousand records.

While running report , parameters window opens and the after required param passed , the reports display message to wait ... and then it waits for around 10 mins and then crashes with following errors:

1. Timeout. [RCIRAS0244]

and some time we get this error also and its intermittent:

Error in File STATUS DETAILS Report: The table could not be found.

for the error "1" i increased the RAS time but didnt helped.

You may want to conider using hyperlinks (openDocument) and multiple reports. For sure it is not a best practice to pull millions of rows in a single CR report and work with it. Even if you make it work the performance will be poor (and that's a rather optimistic statement).

Which viewer do you use? Normally the CR processing server is doing the processing of the reports here and not the RAS.

You can get the SAP Notes details using the following link:

https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/support

You can also check the following possibilities:

1. If the report is created on top of universe, probably you could check the timeout limit setting in universe parameters.

2. If any report getting huge data may fail due to cache or memory issues.
